Charles Jeffries presents the award for St. Philip’s College to acting Dean Tony Bower.
Vexler Theatre to volunteer Walt Novak, presented by Ken Frazier.
Vexler Children’s Theatre to volunteer Naomi Phillips, presented by Tami Kai Frazier.
Gala Details
Held September 28, 2003 at SAC’s McAllister Auditorium.
The Globe Awards, which recognize excellence in local live theatre, were presented in 24 categories including Acting, Directing, Musical Direction, Choreography, Design, and overall Production.
A total of 29 productions from 12 different producing organizations each received at least one award for the 2002-03 season.
The awards saluted 29 productions in 24 categories.
ATAC Board members Mary Denman and John O'Neill were emcee's of this year's Awards Show and entertainment included the Josephine Theatre's "Oh Say Can You Swing" ensemble.
This year's Jasmina Wellinghoff award was presented to Dan Laurence, a noted George Bernard Shaw scholar and respected actor and director, by last year's winner, George Burnette.
In addition, the organization gave the Jasmina Wellinghoff Award or achievement in theater to Dan Laurence, a noted George Bernard Shaw scholar and respected actor and director.
