Brandi Stillwell has been an active member of the San Antonio theatre community for over a decade, contributing their talents both onstage and backstage. As a licensed wig and makeup artist, Brandiโ€™s distinctive work has elevated productions across the city, including at the San Pedro Playhouse, Wonder Theatre, The Overtime Theater, Magik Theatre, and several local high schools. Beyond their professional contributions, they have volunteered in nearly every role within a theatre production and embrace every opportunity to give back to their community.

In addition to their theatre work, Brandi runs their salon, Mane Witch, which provides an inclusive space for all individuals to receive affirming haircuts and color services. They also serve as Wig Supervisor for Once Upon a Party and create custom wigs, hairpieces, and makeup designs for local cosplay, burlesque, and drag artists, all while continuing to pursue artistic and technical excellence and raising the bar for the theatrical magic that audiences experience throughout the San Antonio theatre community.

About the Malone Award

ย Established this year, the Malone Award is named after Rick and Diane Malone and is a tribute to their collective, life-long dedication to San Antonio theatre.

To qualify, nominees must:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in San Antonio theater

  • Contributed in technical areas such as stage management, lighting technician/operator, sound technician/operator, stagehand, set construction, scenic painter, makeup artistry, dressing, costume builder, intimacy coordination, projection/video technician or stagehand work

This award is designed to recognize individuals whose contributions in behind-the-scenes roles may not typically receive formal recognition. This year, the ATAC Board nominated and voted on possible recipients.
